Methodology Example

The methodology shown on the left was designed to provide a controlled phase-gate project process.  It allows for positive project control while also providing the flexibility to allow for certain artifacts and gate requirements to be modified based on the project and organization's needs.

This process can be used for either development of solutions or implementation of packaged solutions.  A set of standard artifacts have been developed to accompany this methodology.

One of the first problems each organization must face is determining the appropriate project methodology to use in delivering  projects.  Each project is different...each will require a slightly different process.  Therefore the methodology must be flexible and allow the project staff the ability to drop unnecessary documentation, process steps, or consolidate methodology requirements based on the size and complexity of the project.

What project methodology should we use?
